Materials & Quality

The Wetseat is Australia’s most trusted Seat Cover. Our range of covers are aligned with the Australian way of life in mind, so whether it’s hard at work, playing in the mud or sand, we’ve got your seats covered.
We have recently re-branded ourselves. The Wetseat is now available in Neoprene, Canvas and our exciting new Denim materials.

Wetseat Neoprene

Made from 2.7mm UV safe neoprene, The Wetseat Neoprene is highly water, abrasion and chemical resistant, easy to clean and very comfortable to sit on all year round. All covers include sharkskin rubber on the under side that is safe when fitted to cloth, leather and vinyl trims, the ribbed sharkskin grips onto the seat without movement, which in turn eliminates wear to your seats.

Wetseat Canvas

Manufactured from an Australian made, soft 12oz, Flame Retardant canvas (an Aussie first!). Our Canvas has been engineered to be country tough without the rough feel from conventional canvas covers. Made in the tradition of our Genuine Accessory parts, The Wetseat Canvas is made to stringent Australian and International standards, your assurance of a high quality product for your tourer without the exorbitant prices.

Wetseat Denim

Our new Wetseat Denim range of Seat Covers are made from a Cotton-Twill Composite material. What sets our Denim apart from any other material available in the market is that you get the strength of a Canvas material mixed in with the comfort of the Neoprene. It is the best of both worlds!

The Wetseat’s range of Seat Covers are 100% vehicle specific and where possible emulate as much of the original seats panelling. All covers will cater for Side Seat Airbags, lumber supports, dump levers, fold out armrests, split folding seats and continued access to anchoring points including ISOFIX.

All materials used in The Wetseat Seat Covers are highly Water Resistant, UV, Mildew, Flame & Tear Resistant. They are also designed to withstand harsh chemicals, constant rubbing and pilling. The rubber backing on our Neoprene and Denim covers are latex free, and all materials have Anti-Microbial Treatment applied! All our Wetseat Seat Covers are specifically designed for superior fitting with greater comfort.

The Wetseat is your ultimate interior protection solution for your vehicle.

Unlike most of our competitors, we have been manufacturing OEM spec seat covers for global giants Toyota Australia & Holden Australia for over 30 years. We follow the same quality standards for our Wetseat products, meaning our retail customers get a OEM quality product!

Q: A Wetsuit lets in water, why & how are the Wetseat covers ‘highly water resistant’?

Whilst our covers are made from a ‘Wetsuit like’ material (neoprene), they are not exactly the same.

The neoprene we use in the production of the legendary Wetseat, is a special blend of neoprene made specific to the automotive industry, based on over 15 years of testing and development. The Wetseat contains a unique ‘blend’ of rubber backing which provides the covers with a ‘highly water resistant’ property, this is unique to our covers and makes the material distinctively different to a Wetsuit and our competitors.

Q: Are the Wetseat covers hot to sit in?

In general no. As a rule of thumb, if you don’t get hot in your current cloth seats then it is unlikely you will feel any difference with the Wetseat covers fitted. Conversely, if you get hot in your current cloth seats then you will likely get just as hot in the Wetseat covers. If left in the sun in a hot car for a period of time they will be initially warm to sit in, but by no means ‘burning hot’ like say a vinyl or leather seats. The covers will acclimatise quickly once the air conditioning is used or window opened.
